Originally call Spitz, the American Eskimo came to the U.S. many years ago from Germany
Preferably white, always thick coated, he is a good watchdog and a wonderful family pet.
Loves cold weather.

The American Eskimo comes in three accepted sizes.

Friendly, alert, and intelligent

 

Breed problems can be both inherited or diseases and disorders seen frequently in a breed and mode of inheritance unknown. Both are listed.
